Radical Son, one is of the most powerful voices and captivating performers in the Australian music scene. With his Kamilaroi heritage and Tongan roots, Radical Son blends the urgency of hip-hop with the emotional depth of soul, drawing strength from a challenging past. His work has seen him collaborate with renowned artists such as David Bridie, Emma Donovan, and Archie Roach, among others. His transformative journey and profound personal insights promise a performance that will deeply resonate and leave audiences profoundly moved.
“I am so grateful to be releasing our album Bilambiyal at the Brunswick Ballroom and am immensely proud of this work. Although I wish I had a stronger connection to Culture and Country, much of my music reflects my heritage, my mob, and my journey. With almost 20 years as an artist, I’ve stayed true to myself and my roots. I believe we have created something we can all be proud of, and I truly hope that message comes through in the songs. I absolutely love this album, and I know you will too.”
He will be joined by special guest Frank Yamma.
Frank Yamma is one of Australia’s most significant Indigenous songwriters, with an ability to cross cultural and musical boundaries. A Pitjantjatjara man, Frank sings in his native language and English. His mighty songs, magical guitar playing and deeply evocative voice tell stories of country, protection, heartache, travel and love. Although he’s lived in Adelaide for many years, Frank’s spirit belongs to the heart of Australia, Uluru, Docker River, Ernabella, Central Australia. As Frank says, “wherever the Pitjantjatjara mob come from.”
Two performances from two of the most culturally significant First Nations artists in Australia.
