All Hail//Australian Tour 2020
All hail the almighty, Norma Jean. From the basements of Atlanta to the biggest stages across the globe, Atlanta metalcore act Norma Jean have spend the last two decades finely tuning their craft which has been honed down into the masterpiece that is their 2019 release All Hail. This May sees the band returning to Australian shores to share the album with their die hard fanbase all the way across Australia with Perth’s Cursed Earth joining for the ride.
From the crushing riffs of Landslide Defeater, to the haunting lyricism on Anna, Norma Jean have once again upped the stakes on this new album, in the words of vocalist Cory Brandan, "We went to a much darker place," said Cory. "There are several references to reflections, both in the lyrics and the song titles. We gaze into mirrors all the time. We become used to the inverse, not just the inverse of our anatomy but, over time, everything around us. The space between the walls. I poured myself into studying light. Refractions and reflections, how obscuring light affects our views, literally, of course, but also figuratively. Perception glides in different directions, and so does this album."
2019 saw Cursed Earth return from in their own words “nightmare depths” to faceless, rage induced entity that provided the groundwork for The Deathbed Sessions, featuring vocal appearances from members of Venom Prison, Make Them Suffer, and Justice For The Damned. Always crushing and often surprising, Cursed Earth have established themselves as one of metal’s bleakest and most powerful voices in Australian metal, and with The Deathbed Sessions now at hand, the future is only darker.
It’s been five years since The Alimighty Norma Jean graced our shores, but soon venues across Australia will be shaking to the chants. All hail. All Hail.
