Brisbane's Moses Gunn Collective are today excited to share a brand new single titled 'Dream Girls' taken from their forthcoming sophomore record due in early 2017. The band will also be embarking on an east coast tour hitting up venues in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Byron Bay throughout August.
The new single sees the band's sound evolving as explained by frontman Aidan Moore, "With our first album 'Mercy Mountain', we were trying to make the music as beautiful and epic as possible. Our aim on the follow-up album has shifted. We have created a dark and brooding world full of 80's synth lines and heavy throbbing disco. The sound is tighter, weirder and, we think, more fun".
The track was recorded in between the bedroom studio of bass player Lew Stephenson's place and various Brisbane studios, with Magoo lending his expertise on the mixing.
2015 was the year that Moses Gunn Collective came into their own with their blend of neo-psych rock and the release of their debut album 'Mercy Mountain'. The lead single 'Shalala' saw the band gracing the airwaves of Triple J and community radio nationwide and saw the band shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize. On the touring side of things, they played Falls Festival and supported Ariel Pink, Metronomy and sold out their own shows in Brisbane and around the country.
