Event Details

One of Melbourne’s most sought-after collaborators, improvising flutist, composer and producer Erica Tucceri debuts her highly anticipated MIJF commission.

Sitting at the cutting edge of the Melbourne music scene, Tucceri is well-known as a featured artist and collaborator of numerous celebrated Australian artists, including Surprise Chef, Alexander Flood, ZFEX, Don Glori, Jitwam, WVR BVBY and more. She has garnered worldwide airplay and praise from the likes of Gilles Peterson and Motor City Drum Ensemble, alongside performances at festivals such as Golden Plains, Strawberry Fields and Ubud Village Jazz Festival (Indonesia).

Featuring an extended ensemble with double percussion and a string quartet, Tucceri’s new work promises to provide an energetic melting pot of lush harmonies and driving rhythms, inspired by her jazz house roots, and the sounds of 1970s Brazil.

Commissioned by MIJF as part of its annual Take Note program, don’t miss what is sure to be the first of many exceptional works led by Tucceri.
