After a two year break from touring with the highly acclaimed band "Fruit", Mel Watson and Sam Lohs take to the road again.

Two of the founding members of the Adelaide band “Fruit” return to their home turf for a gig at The Gov, on Sunday the 28th of September. After a two year break from touring with the highly acclaimed band “Fruit”, Mel Watson and Sam Lohs take to the road again, this time in a two-seater. The duo returns to Adelaide to celebrate life, friendship and their beautiful brand of music. If you haven’t been introduced to the music of these tremendously gifted singer/ songwriters, then you’re in for a major epiphany. Their performance is compelling and their musicality is groundbreaking, making it difficult to draw any comparisons. Between them they have received over a dozen Australian Music Awards. Sam Lohs is a Melbourne based singer/ songwriter/ guitarist whose distinctively beautiful voice can be heard singing “Wait On” and “1000 Days” over the sound system of Qantas Airlines and national Target and Kmart stores throughout Australia. Now residing in Seattle, Mel Watson regularly tours North America as a solo artist, with U.S musician Jen Todd, and countless others. Mel also works with legendary Women’s Music pioneer Cris Williamson, as both a support musician and management assistant at Cris’s “Wolf Moon Records”, all the while building her own new independent label,”100th Monkey Records”. Mel hopes to be able to help other independent Australian artists through her label, while producing projects that will benefit organziations like “P.E.T.A” (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and “With Compassion”. Mel and Sam are touring in support of their newest solo releases, ‘Seed’ & ‘We Trip Over Things’, which will be available at the show. The evening at The Gov will also serve as a fundraiser for “With Compassion”, a local Adelaide charity that raises funds and donates medical supplies to animal shelters in developing countries. There will be many special items for sale with 100% of the proceeds of those items going to help this wonderful organization.
