November 16th will see experimental funk machine Steppers bring forth their debut single Funkovski at Lazybones Lounge (L1), Marrickville. Lead by the soulful vocals and beats of the esteemed Reginald AK, Steppers boasts deluxe guitar, sultry rhodes, a luscious 3-piece horn section featuring trombone, tenor sax and effected trumpet, all driven by heaving basslines.

With lyrics referencing the regret of love lost, Funkovski brings the realization that more could have been done. The horns emulate a sense of hope that something could be learnt from losing something so great, so easily.

The pedigree of talent Steppers has to offer is raw & honest; decades of combined experience in and around the Melbourne music world, coming together to create harmony and dance. Gearing up for their debut single and upcoming November east coast tour, Steppers have a catalog of achievements under their belts with members featuring in The Bamboos, Harvey Sutherland and Melbourne Ska Orchestra, to name a few. These elements combined in one beast of soul mastery is an exciting prospect for Melbourne music.
