Growing up in the Blue Mountains, nomadic singer songwriter Little Green, developed a sense of storytelling and musicality inspired by the nature around her. The self-taught musician plays flute, sax, guitar, piano, bass, and voice, noting she wrote songs from when she could speak as her way to process the world.
“When I was a toddler, my dad trained me to have perfect pitch by putting a tuning (pitch) fork on my head, then a couple hours later asking me to sing an A. I think I lost it now though. He also taught me to recognise major, minor and diminished chords when I was a toddler then all the intervals when I was a bit older. So I was like his musical experiment. I wrote and recorded my first song when I was three years old and called it 'Bumble Bee', but that was pretty silly. My first proper song was called 'Golden Wings' which I wrote at around 13 years old. Then when my sister came along we would all sing and make music together.”
Little Green garnered attention across the globe by writing a song a day on social media during the lockdowns of 2021. 2022 has seen multiple songs added to triple j as the singer songwriter heads beyond 10 million+ streams online.
