Legendary Sydney band Drop City were by far the most innovative and mercurial rock groups of the Australian 90’s music scene. Encompassing elements of 60’s pop with shoegaze and fronted by the enigmatic singer/guitarist and songwriter Matthew J Tow who later went on to join The Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Lovetones, Drop City originally released 4 albums throughout the 90’s and toured Australia, Canada and the U.S performing at The Big Day Out and Meredith Festivals and supported many iconic bands including The Stone Roses, Stereolab and Manic Street Preachers. Drop City are now back to celebrate their seminal 1995 release ‘Magic Transistor Radio’. Originally released by Red Eye Records and recorded by The Boo Radleys, Spiritualized and Stereolab producer, Andy Wilkinson in London – Magic Transistor Radio will now be available on limited edition double vinyl for the first time ever! To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the release, Drop City will perform 2 very special shows at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne on the 6th September and Factory Theatre in Sydney on the 13th Sept.
