The Sauce Icons series continues with not one but two certified legends of the scene

DJ FLIGHT (UK)

DJ Flight is widely regarded as one of the foundations of Drum & Bass and a pioneer of dance music. As a DJ and a radio presenter, she has been at the forefront of the scene’s transitional periods by championing underground music and eclectic producers. Flight draws attention from beyond the genre due to her exquisite live sets that emanate deeper shades of Drum & Bass.

Flight gained worldwide recognition when she became the first woman to host a national weekly Drum & Bass show. The Next Chapter on BBC 1Xtra was a seminal fixture that quickly became The Holy Grail for discovering new styles and experimental sounds.

Flight has held residencies at Metalheadz and Swerve, produced tunes with Breakage, and released music on 31, Critical, Bassbin, and Product. In 2005, she started her own label, Play:Musik which launched the career of Martyn.

DJ Flight is often cited as one of the originators of the dance music scene and has appeared on Woman’s Hour, Radio 1, and the British Council’s Selector Radio to celebrate her history as a Black woman DJ and broadcaster.

For volume 3 we also welcome back a long time Adelaide crowd favorite in the form of the mighty Stamina MC, both on the mic and to spin an exclusive DJ set for the early heads.

A multi-talented performer, effortlessly combining the roles of vocalist, host and MC with a massive stage-presence, Stamina’s well-earned reputation speaks for itself. He‘s a touring veteran and lives up to his name, making regular appearances across the globe.

Whether alongside long-term stage partners Shy FX and DJ Marky, or a whole host of other top DJs, Stamina’s high-energy performances raise the crowd with an outstanding range of lyrics, harmonies and freestyles to match the occasion.

A total professional, his love of music always takes centre stage and shines through whether performing live, on radio or in the studio, and has seen him feature on some now classic tracks such as LK, Barcelona and more recently Roll The Dice with Shy FX & Lily Allen.

Stamina’s unswerving commitment to Drum & Bass at a grass roots level sets him apart from the rest and has won the support of a broad base of fans.
