Blowout Comb 30th Anniversary Tour

Grammy-award-winning hip-hop pioneers DIGABLE PLANETS today announce their return to Australia in March 2025 celebrating 30 years since the release of their seminal album Blowout Comb. 

Made up of Ishmael Butler (“Butterfly”), Craig Irving (“Doodlebug”) and Mary Ann Vieira (“Ladybug Mecca”), Digable Planets burst onto the music scene with their unique style of jazz-informed hip hop in 1993 with their Grammy award-winning debut single, Rebirth Of Slick (Cool Like Dat). 

They followed up shortly after with debut album, Reachin’ (A New Refutation of Time And Space), a huge critical and commercial success, and sophomore album Blowout Comb in 1994, a bold and colorful meditation on Black liberation. The album has aged beautifully, influencing future generations of hip hop heads, young jazz musicians and afrofuturists. 

A pioneering act that continues to cast a wide-ranging, genre- bending influence, Digable Planets have left an indelible mark on music. More than 30 years after their debut, their music still shines, and the iconic group continues to bring their celebrated stage show to excited crowds around the world.
