Day 5 of the Carnival is the TAB Metric Mile Day, and the $50,000 feature provides the last opportunity for Cup hopefuls to make the field for the big one on the final day of the Carnival. The 1600m event is one of seven top-quality races on the day, with the $32,000 Flying Sprint and the $40,000 3yo handicap and other events are sure to create plenty of interest. 

Past winners of the TAB Metric Mile include the Bob Richard-trained Spartan Eagle (2013 & 2014) and the Neil Dyer-trained Palmyra Boy (2009 & 2010). Last year's winner, the Terry Gillett-trained That's Justified will be looking for back-to-back victories.
