DJ FLIGHT BIO

DJ Flight is one of the foundations of Drum & Bass. She is an award-winning DJ, broadcaster, radio producer, and co-founder of EQ50 - a collective of women working towards fairer representation in dance music. 2022 marked a string of successes for Flight as she celebrated 25 years of playing exquisite sets to music fans across the globe. The ’25 Years of Flight’ European tour culminated with a blistering b2b set with DJ Storm at Boiler Room Festival Amsterdam, a monumental two-hour soundscape that has amassed over 600,000 views on YouTube so far. Flight closed off the year with a DJ Mag award for ‘Outstanding Contribution’ to dance music while Mixmag named her one of the ‘DJs Who Defined The Year’. In 2023, ‘Turn It Up: A Short History of Drum & Bass’, a BBC Sounds documentary produced and narrated by Flight, was nominated in the ‘Best Music Special’ category at Radio Academy’s ARIAS. This radio production followed ‘Windrush Stories’, an award-winning podcast series that garnered widespread acclaim for its beautiful exploration of the Caribbean experience in Britain. Flight has a rare mystical talent that transcends time and space. For over a quarter of a century, her star has been in ascendance. Flight’s influence on the scene has been immense and in March the New York Times wrote of her inspiration to a whole new generation of artists, including Nia Archives. Flight regularly plays at Rupture and residencies have included Metalheadz and Swerve. She has produced music with Breakage, and released on labels such as Reinforced, Bassbin, Critical, The North Quarter, and Carbon. In 2005, Flight started her own label – play:musik – which launched the career of several up and coming producers. Flight gained worldwide recognition when she became the first woman to host a national Drum & Bass show. The Next Chapter on BBC Radio 1Xtra was a seminal fixture that quickly became The Holy Grail for discovering new styles and experimental sounds. Flight recently returned to the airwaves with a new monthly radio show every third Wednesday 9–11pm, on the legendary and freshly relaunched Kool FM.

JEREMY SYLVESTER

Dance music has a habit of running in cycles, so whilst the newbies are discovering the latest ‘old’ style, the veterans of the industry already have it down to a fine art. Having been a fundamental part of the UK scene since the 90’s, amassing three. Dance music has a habit of running in cycles, so whilst the newbies are discovering the latest ‘old’ style, the veterans of the industry already have it down to a fine art. Having been a fundamental part of the UK scene since the 90’s, amassing three UK top 20 singles and over a staggering 4 million record sales worldwide, Jeremy Sylvester has refocused and thrown himself into recording a long awaited debut album. With a mass of fresh new releases up his ever experienced sleeve, Jeremy is moving forward and embodying his vast knowledge with a great perception of what works, as well as mixing in something innovative and fresh, to keep himself a cut above the rest. With respected EDM figureheads like Disclosure and Basement Jaxx all showing great support for Jeremy’s talent and vision, as well as noting him as one of their influences, he is now embarking on a tour of the US and Australia to once again spread the seed of his unique style. After working with artists like Shola Ama, All Saints, KC & JoJo and Kristine Blonde, Jeremy is now set to extend his collaboration portfolio with some of the best DJs and vocalists around working with him on pioneering new tracks. Jeremy is a DJ who is capable of covering a vast repertoire of styles, blending them into one sound that has become synonymous and identifiable to him as a DJ. Combining a mix of deep house/garage, classic 90’s style house, deep tech and jacking with a bit of old skool 4×4 garage thrown in for good measure, Jeremy’s diversity and sheer panache is second to none. His cool DJ sets are known for twisting the dance floor into a sexy melange of movement before letting loose into a filthy beat, Jeremy knows what the crowd want, and he knows how to give it to them. Not just content as a respected spin doctor behind the decks, Jeremy also embodies everything he brings to his live sets into a whirlwind of production where he flawlessly shows off his DJ sound, showcasing exclusives, mash-ups and remixes whilst combining all of his influences into one big melting pot of dance music splendour.
As the years go by, Jeremy goes on to prove himself time and time again as being an industry mainstay, having built up a stellar reputation as a player who knows exactly what he is talking about. Despite his many years on the scene, the best is yet to come from Jeremy.
