BLOKBSTR’s debut releases, 'Apartment' and ‘July’, garnered glowing reviews from critics such as Ash McGregor of triple j’s Home and Hosed praised the band, stating, "They're really in their own lane... they are very, very good," while assistant music director Claire Mooney described their music as, "Like Art vs Science, Daft Punk, and LCD Soundsystem had a love child."

Three years in the making, BLOKBSTR is the culminate project of Jimmy Heathwood, Sam Barron and Lewis Clarke, all of whom honed their craft in the creative tempest of Sydney’s scene. In their various past lives they have sold out shows at Oxford Art Factory, toured across Australia and Europe, and supported renowned acts such as Jet, Art vs Science, The Preatures, Birds of Tokyo, and Delta Riggs. Now, they have serendipitously come together as BLOKBSTR with one mission; to THINK LOUD and have fun doing it.
