Four musicians and three visual artists meet at the crossroads of audio/visual interpretation.
The realisation of a months-long cross-artistic collaboration, the Australian String Quartet (ASQ) and digital artists Max Brading, Simon Kither and Orlando Mee present an evening of Transient States.
French Impressionist composer Claude Debussy famously posited that music is what happens in the space between the notes. Akin to the playing out of life, where perceptions of major events warp under the weight of time and perspective, and where origins and destinations give way to the journeys that link them, this 50-minute experience complete with digital imagery manipulated by the live sound of the ASQwill immerse you within the conceptually infinite loop that is Transient States.
Journey into a sensory world featuring music by Beethoven, Thomas Adès and contemporary Australian composers Holly Harrison, Harry Sdraulig and Matt Laing, as interpreted by this incredible and eclectic ensemble of artists.
