Solo acoustic guitar and ethnic-jazz, Anatolian psychedelic band

``Arif Erdem Ocak is a Turkish-born guitarist, singer, and songwriter, best known as a founding member and the guitarist of Seksendört, one of Turkey’s most iconic rock bands that rose to fame in the mid-to-late 2000s with consecutive chart-topping hits. While still an active member of Seksendört, Arif has also established himself as a dynamic solo artist, blending Anatolian folk music with contemporary and jazz influences.

In 2019, he founded Nasip Kısmet, an ethnic-jazz outfit based in Hungary, bringing together high-caliber musicians to create a unique fusion of Eastern and Western sounds. Now residing in Budapest, he continues to explore the deep repertoire of Turkish folk music, reinterpreting it through his distinctive vocal style and signature percussive guitar technique. Whether performing solo, with Seksendört, or leading Nasip Kısmet, Arif captivates audiences with his expressive artistry, pushing musical boundaries while staying true to his cultural roots.
 
For his Sydney concert, Arif will present a two-part performance. The first set will be an intimate solo acoustic performance, showcasing his unique interpretation of Anatolian folk music through his signature guitar style. In the second set, he will be joined by talented Australian local musicians, delivering an immersive ethnic-jazz experience, blending Anatolian psychedelic and contemporary elements.
