Duke of George presents
24 Nights Revisited - The Music of Eric Clapton
Hot on the heels of his "Journeyman" studio album, 1991 saw the release of Eric Clapton's iconic “24 Nights” concert marking a high point in his storied career. Recorded live at The Royal Albert Hall, this run of shows paired meticulous songwriting with stadium rock energy, adding a pop sensibility whilst remaining firmly planted on a foundation of classic Chicago Blues.
Revisiting the magic of these nights is multi-award winner and internationally-acclaimed Nathan Gaunt. Having toured extensively across America, UK and Australia, he is no stranger to the big stage and bright lights. His ethereal vocals and fiery guitar work channels the spirit of the Royal Albert Hall performances that simultaneously rejuvenated Clapton’s classic hits while introducing audiences to (soon to be staple) tracks such as "Running On Faith", "Pretending" and "Old Love”.
Gaunt teams up with Trevor Jalla who wore out his VHS copy of “24 Nights” learning guitar riffs and solos as a teen. During those years, Jalla was simultaneously absorbing the driving pocket of Steve Ferrone’s drumming and will pivot from his usual frontman role to the drum throne. Joining them are some of Perth's first-call musicians Chris Travaglini (keys) and Karl Florisson (bass) to respectively channel Greg Phillinganes and Nathan East - integral members of Clapton’s touring band of that era. Nicki Rose rounds out the lineup to add the final touch of class on backing vocals and percussion.
For EC connoisseurs, this show is not to be missed!
