Highland FM’s 100% Home-Grown has brought together its featured Artists of the Month into the one big concert. The stunning array of local talent includes:
LAUREN AMBER - ARTIST OF THE MONTH - DECEMBER
7:00PM:
Lauren Amber is an up-and-coming Australian singer, songwriter and guitarist.
She transitions from Indie folk to pop music with a voice that is sweet, gentle and convincingly sings various styles and genres that are a testament to her versatility and skill. Lauren is an excellent songwriter which will undoubtedly contribute to her success as a performer.
Her unique mix of rich dark notes and a bright upper range articulate heartfelt lyrics and stories, matching the moods of her emotions that connect with the audience.
Her influences include Taylor Swift, Bon Iver, Ariana Grande, Brad Paisley and Josh Pyke. Lauren takes inspiration from soundscapes including spatial awareness to provide a listening experience.
With a Bachelor of Creative Arts and Music from the University of Wollongong, Lauren writes, performs and mixes her own music.
In 2022 Lauren was awarded the UOW Wollongong Music Centre Prize for her work on her EP ‘Where The Flowers Fall’. She has worked with acclaimed musicians and producers, including providing the vocals for the revived intro for the television program ‘Getaway’.
Lauren Amber will weave you into her web of musical magic to delight and enthral.
BEN MALONE - ARTIST OF THE MONTH - OCTOBER
8:00PM:
Ben Malone started learning guitar as a six year old, joined junior school bands and combined with his parents to play music at their local church.
Since that time, Ben has become a well-known and popular performer in the Southern Highlands featuring regularly at venues throughout the region.
Beyond the Highlands, he has toured nationally with singer, songwriter Hollie Col, as drummer and backing vocalist. He has performed with Pete Murray, Icehouse, Winterbourne, 19-Twenty, and Kodaline (UK) and at a recent festival which featured The Rubens, Spiderbait, Middle Kids and Skeggs.
Ben continues to grow his works and expertise as a songwriter and has the ability to convey emotion and message through his words and performance. Ben Malone is no doubt a highly talented multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter which will ensure his success in the Australian music scene.
A highly recommended performer.
PETER CAMPBELL - ARTIST OF THE MONTH - NOVEMBER
9:00PM:
In a career spanning over 50 years, Peter Campbell’s music and authentic voice is charged with honesty, activism, human emotion, humour and personal politics.
Peter has performed around the world during which time he released a number of albums including 'Of Time and its Distance' and 'Across the Border' which was produced by Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul & Mary. They covered his song ‘Wild Places’ on their album 'Such is Love'. Peter Campbell also supported Peter, Paul and Mary on their 1982 Australian Tour.
In the 2020s Peter brings a wealth of finely crafted songs to contemporary audiences playing 6 and 12 string guitars and banjo. A believer in the power of voices in harmony, Peter engenders a joining of hearts and voices that transcend pure listening experience.
Peter, a Southern Highlands’ resident will be joined on stage by his son and ARIA award winning musician, Bow Campbell (Front End Loader) and Award winning Cinematographer and harmonica player, Brian Rapsey.
This is a rare opportunity to experience live one of Australia’s greatest folk artists.....Peter Campbell.
