Yarrabah Music and Cultural Festival is Back

with an Incredible Lineup for 2023 Festival

Far North Queensland is set to come alight with the return of Yarrabah Music and Cultural Festival on October 7 with its best lineup yet, featuring Jessica Mauboy, Electric Fields, Jessie Lloyd and Yarrabah Brass Band. As capstone of the Tropics Trail leg of Queensland Music Trails, the event draws in travellers to experience the natural and cultural wonders of the region. The free event has a spot on the calendar for locals and travellers alike, bringing together those who love a good boogie and celebration of the world’s oldest living culture, all set amongst tropical Far North Queensland. While tickets for the event are free, registrations are essential. Patrons must head to Moshtix to secure their spot. Headliner Jessica Mauboy says, “I am more than honoured to be headlining Yarrabah Music & Cultural Festival this year for QLD Music Trails! I am looking forward to October and can’t wait to see all the smiling faces in Yarrabah on Gunggandji Country! See you all there!”. Only an hour’s drive from Cairns, Yarrabah is nestled between rolling green hills and crystalline sea – the perfect spot for a vibrant music festival. Presented by QMF and the Yarrabah Aboriginal Shire Council, the all ages event combines impressive musical acts, visual arts and flavours with some of Australia’s brightest stars to showcase the incredible talent emerging from the Yarrabah community and beyond.

The festival is a gathering place for original storytellers and artists of all forms to celebrate a rich history and contribute to the future of the region's cultural vibrancy. Local Mayor Ross Andrews says, “Yarrabah Music and Cultural Festival drives significant visitation and positive social and economic impact for the region and a headliner like Jessica Mauboy is a great way to put Yarrabah on the map as one of the world’s most unique music festivals.

“To have one of Australia’s most successful artists performing as part of our 2023 event is a major coup. We look forward to welcoming Jessica to the region for a full day of live music, food stalls, local art, culture and kids rides.” The event will host a range of workshops, at an extra fee, including weaving, wood artefact making, shell necklace, and damper making workshops, allowing visitors to experience Yarrabah in a whole new way and connect with the community.
