Duke of George presents
Toyko Groove Jyoshi | Tokyo Down Under
From Tokyo, Japan for the first time in Australia, Tokyo Groove Jyoshi, an All Girl Jazz/Funk Groove Band (formed in 2018) will be performing a mixture of their originals (Funk No.1 which has 14 million views on YouTube, Hot Summer, Tokyo Groove, Rise Up, Mojito plus new songs from their up and coming EP to be released in December 2023) and some classic covers, including their unique version of Tower of Power’s “What is Hip?” and Average White Band’s “Pick up the pieces”. TGJ strives to be a powerful groove band with music beyond the generations, genders and genres
They have already performed in New York City in 2020, Taiwan (April 2023) and Singapore (December 2023) . Now it is Australia’s turn to be treated to their music and charm. If you are a jazz lover, these ladies will not disappoint. Each one plays their part superbly!
