Sex on Toast are an enigma. A 7 legged beast, a phenomenon, and an auditory and visual

feast. Explorers of funk, soul, theatrical rock and beyond, with all manner of line ups, SOT

are lifers, plain and simple.

From the Quincy Jones and Miami Sound Machine inspired early 80’s bangers and deep

talk-box laced slow jams of their 2014 debut album to the bright, horn drenched live band

yacht-funk sound of 2016’s Ready EP (which featured the break-out single “Oh Loretta” that

has since amassed over 10 million streams), to the new jack swing, quiet storm, Minneapolis

funk and heavy metal of 2018’s Rough EP.

With each change in sound came a change in look and totally unique live show.

The all black trench coat, turtle necks and shoulder pad ‘Tonay’ look of the Rough Tour. The

’Trendy Real Estate Agent’ look of The Greatest Hits Tour.

Sex On Toast stepped into vans and planes and treated many of Australia and New

Zealands’ major festivals with these shows.

The group are currently working on the epic “Pegasus” LP. After years of directly referencing

musical genres, this work is an attempt to move away from this tendency into a sonic

universe into of itself, where pop sensibility and orchestral bombast rub shoulders, thematic

material weaves in and out of each track and surprise is around every corner.

Pegasus is an odd journey.

A Hollywood movie for your ears.

A technicolour daydream.

Light and shade.

Rage and Peace.
