Mungo’s Hi Fi meets Freo Dub Club VOL 2 – Full Venue Takeover

After last year’s sold-out mayhem, Mungo’s Hi Fi return to WA for our biggest session yet!
 This time, we’re turning up the heat with a full venue takeover at Freo.Social — two sound systems, two floors, and a deep dive into the heart of sound system culture.

Inside, the Dub Arena will be powered by the full KBI Sound System! Outside, the Riddim Yard will bring the vibes with Jungle, DNB & Hip Hop selections, powered by the mighty Traction rig.

And at the helm? None other than Mungo’s Hi Fi, bringing a 3-hour extended set packed with exclusive dubplates, heavyweight riddims, and deep cuts.
 

🎯 About Mungo’s Hi Fi (7.30-10.30pm)

Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, Mungo’s Hi Fi are internationally celebrated champions of dub, reggae, and sound system culture.
 Over two decades deep, they've blazed a trail across the global scene — from Outlook Festival to Boomtown, Rototom Sunsplash to Glastonbury, and beyond.

Their catalog is stacked with collaborations with legends like Sister Nancy, Sugar Minott, Ranking Joe, Soom T, Charlie P, Gardna, Eva Lazarus, and many more, constantly evolving the tradition while keeping the foundation strong.
 Through their own Scotch Bonnet Records and legendary live sessions, Mungo’s have built a reputation for pure vibes, deep crates, and high-energy performances that move both heart and feet.

Expect exclusive dubplates, deep roots, bassweight madness, and serious party energy when Mungo’s touches down!

Two custom-built bass music sound systems united under the same roof — quite possibly a first in WA history!
 This is a true celebration of sound system culture in the West, a landmark night bringing the spirit, passion, and raw power of dub and bass to the forefront.

It’s also our second last Freo Dub Club event of the season — so if you love the vibes, make sure you don't miss it!

🔊 KBI Sound System – Indoor Dub Arena

Mungo’s Hi Fi will perform their full set on an authentic, custom-built UK sound system — the mighty KBI Sound System, now proudly based here in WA.
 Built by Prez and Tubby in Leicester in 2002 and shipped to Australia in 2012, KBI brings a true heavyweight experience: deep, warm bass, crystal-clear tops, and serious sound pressure.
 Praised by the likes of Mad Professor, this is a rare chance to feel an original UK-built rig in action — the perfect match for a Mungo’s Hi Fi session.

🔊 The Outdoor Riddim Yard – Powered by Traction Sound

The Riddim Yard will keep the outdoor energy buzzing all day and night — a celebration of counterculture sounds with some of WA’s best selectors bringing the finest Jungle, DNB, and Hip Hop vibes, powered by the mighty Traction rig.

Red Earth Dub Circus is your home for all things dub, reggae, and sound system culture in WA.
 Building a grassroots community through bass music, REDC runs Freo Dub Club, blending local legends and international heavyweights to grow a vibrant, culturally rich scene here in the West. All funds raised go into growing the local Sound System Scene & building WA’s first homegrown Dub Sound System.
