Minneapolis duo Koo Koo have announced their all ages Australi-yeah Tour, kicking off in January 2025. Tickets on sale Friday September 6 at 9am AEST via Destroy All Lines.

From the Vans Warped Tour stage, to US support tours with the likes of Orange County superhero rock band The Aquabats and Ska legends Reel Big Fish, Koo Koo have found a unique place in their corner of music. Laying foundations in rock while adding sprinklings of crowd participation, comedy and dance music, Koo Koo stretched the concept of what a 'band' could be and became an unexpected hit in classrooms around the world.

Now, the duo are gearing up to make their first ever trip to Australia to share their excitable pop-meets-dance-meets-hiphop repertoire with fans of all ages. The tour will begin Friday January 31 at Factory Floor Sydney before travelling to Stay Gold Melbourne on February 2 and rounding out at The Outpost in Brisbane on February 2.

Created in 2008, Koo Koo is Bryan Atchison and Neil Olstad, who met four years prior to formation as freshman at University. After being in a campus rock band for the first few years of college, the two created Koo Koo as an experimental project for their annual battle of the bands. The next few years saw Bryan and Neil touring throughout the Midwest playing bars, basements and barbecues while they released their first few albums and music videos. Their 2010 support tour with The Aquabats lead to more opportunity and support slots with Reel Big Fish and Yo Gabba Gabba Live. Koo Koo began creating “dance-a-long” videos for their songs to help demonstrate the moves that audiences would need to know at their shows, which led Koo Koo into the world of children’s music and saw them become a “real” kids band.

Domestic and international touring followed as the guys hit the road with Warped Tour, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, and MC Lars. Concept albums about cats, potty humor, self-help, holidays and Panera Bread added to the band’s discography. Simultaneously, the popularity of their “brain break” dance-a-long videos continued to skyrocket with kids around the world.

In 2021 Bryan and Neil released their first non-concept album since 2013, partnering with Twin Cities producer extraordinaire Lazerbeak. 'Slow Clap' presents a more hip-hop-centric sound with plenty of grooving bass lines and monstrous drums, while retaining the catchy, weirdo-energy fans expect from the pair.

Koo Koo stepped into a new realm with their TV series Oh Yeah Heck Yeah. This fast-paced variety clip show features music videos, sketches, animation and interactive games in their irreverent, high-energy style. The first season consists of five ten- minute episodes with each premiering a brand new Koo Koo song and video. Their self-produced show is available to watch on the
Koo Koo YouTube channel.

Join the antics this January as the next chapter of Koo Koo is written before our eyes. Tickets on sale via Destroy All Lines this Friday at 9am AEST. Early bird presale Wednesday September 4 at 9am AEST.
