Event Details

Embark on a genre-bending journey that will stretch your imagination.

Claire Cross presents her latest project “Into Light” - an immersive, electro-acoustic suite that swells with lush textures and delicate melodies. Commissioned by the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, the all-melbourne project features outstanding young saxophonist Flora Carbo.

Paul Derricott earnt his stripes playing in multiple projects, at home and abroad. His genre-defying style as a drummer defines the modern jazz fusion outfit COAST. The music focuses less on technical prowess, and more of tasty grooves and driving rhythms.

Claire Cross – Electric Bass/Compositions
Biddy Connor – Viola
Stephanie Arnold - Cello
Flora Carbo – Alto Saxophone/Bass Clarinet
Jordan Murray – Trombone
Harry Cook - Piano

Paul Derricott - Drums
Peter Koopman - Guitar
Shannon Stitt - Keys
Michael Avgenicos – Sax

SIMA would like to thank the City of Sydney, Create NSW, Live Music Australia and Australia Council for the arts for their generous funding towards the Jazz:NOW Summer Festival program.
