100 Years of Crazy Blues

Simone Craddock & Adrian Galante are the recipients of the 2020 Fringe World Music & Musicals Award. Tonight they reprise their sold-out festival season of 100 Years of Crazy Blues with a toe-tapping, hip-swaying, whiskey-toting centennial celebration!

In the August of 1920, a vaudeville singer named Mamie Smith made history when she lay down the first ever blues record, 'Crazy Blues' ...and there's been a whole lotta crazy-good blues since then! Simone & her band trace the hottest and hilarious highlights of the most influential genre of all time, with hits from the likes of Ray Charles, Nina Simone, Amy Winehouse, Led Zeppelin, Sammy Davis Jnr, Johnny Cash and more. From the spirituals of the Deep South, to Rock n Roll, Country & R&B, no-one can resist the rhythmic lure & laughter of the Blues!

Simone Craddock - vocals

Adrian Galante - piano

Danny Moss Jnr - bass

Daniel Susnjar - drums
