We Get Around...  

We get around a good time. Each event will focus on a different era or movement in music, spread across 2 stages. To kick things off we are playing tribute to the year that was instrumental in dance for our generation.  

[ 2006 ]  

10 years ago, before 'We Are Your Friends' became a movie, it was a dance anthem by french electro prodigys Justice and Simian Mobile Disco.  

Shows like The OC were proudly curating the playlists of the teenage years (and well into adulthood) with indie dance anthems from The Killers, Bloc Party and Arctic Monkeys.   The Triple J Hottest 100 was full of Australian artists, from The Presets to Pendulum, Wolfmother to Cut Copy and everything in between.  

Festivals sold out in minutes and it's no suprise with cross-genre festivals dominating the market thanks to massive lineups. Big Day Out was the most The White Stripes, 2 Many DJs, Franz Ferdinand, Soulwax, James Murphy, The Presets & many more.  

Across 2 levels you can experience the music that personified 2006. Upstairs will focus on what you would have heard on the radio, from pop to hip hop, to indie dance and vocal house anthems.   Downstairs will focus on the bloghaus era, french electro, electro house and nu disco dancefloor fillers. Remember the DJs who wore slogan tees and acid wash Ksubis? We have enlisted the help of some of the tastemakers during this time to deliver a truly authentic '2006' experience.
