As well as the already announced Groovin' The Moo festival dates, They Might Be Giants are very excited (and so are we for that matter) to announce they'll return to our shores to headline their first Australian shows since 2001.

They Might Be Giants are John Linnell on keyboards and accordion and John Flansburgh on guitar, and their barn-storming live band includes Danny Weinkauf on bass, Marty Beller on drums and Dan "Solder" Miller on lead guitar. Linnell and Flansburgh became friends as kids in school in Massachusetts but only formed the band after moving to Brooklyn, New York.

With their minimal stage show and innovative Dial-A-Song service, They Might Be Giants were prime movers in the mid- '80s explosion of visual art, music, and performance art that put New York's East Village scene on the cultural map. "We're fully aware of the musical worlds both to the left of us and to the right of us - we've heard avant garde music, we've heard popular music," says Flansburgh. "That's given us the notion that we can be as original as we can be and still make worthwhile songs."

Along with their impossibly catchy songs, They Might Be Giants' high concept, low budget music videos helped the band stand apart, and rocketed the duo to the the top of the burgeoning US alternative rock scene, and then on to international mainstream success. TMBG has recorded numerous themes most notably The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and the GRAMMY-winning Malcolm In the Middle theme. The band has 2 platinum discs, 2 gold discs, and have been nominated for 3 GRAMMYs, winning two.
