Originally from London, Scuba (aka Paul Rose) forged a name for himself in his hometown promoting, producing and playing jungle and techno before making the foray into Dubstep. In fact, his record label ‘Hotflush’ was born out of a successful club night he ran with some friends in Bristol whilst studying history.

Wanting to get back in touch with his techno roots and move away from what was becoming a far too generic, lacklustre Dubstep scene in London, Scuba made the now standard move to Berlin. This is when things really started to take off.  Soon after arriving, Scuba's own distinctive production aesthetic started to get noticed. His infiltration was complete when landed a Friday night residency and his own quarterly SUB:SATNCE night at Berlin's legendary techno temple, Berghain.

Meanwhile, his Hotflush Recordings label has blossomed alongside him into a veritable juggernaut in underground music boasting such names as Joy Orbison and Mount Kimbie on its roster.
