Suspended is a site specific dance work

Suspended is an original site-specific dance work by choreographer and dancer Yahna Fookes, developed exclusively for the City of Melbourne Arts Program for 2013.

Informed by American modern dance guru Trisha Brown's Roof Piece (1971), Suspended emulates a vision that challenges the way in which we traditionally view dance, integrating film, sound and design. Through exploring an interaction between live dance and pre-recorded footage in an open-aired setting, the work emphasizes the physical sensations of being suspended and the counterbalancing effects of gravity.
