Sydney-based boutique PR agency & management company, Rare Finds are proud to announce their Sydney club night’s second birthday. Set to take over both rooms at Oxford Art Factory on Saturday 29 April, Rare Finds Second Birthday will be a celebration of the last two years of Rare Finds nights.
The milestone will be celebrated with a stellar line- up led by Hey Geronimo and Major Leagues who will be joined by rising stars Bad Pony, Mookhi, Nocturnal Tapes, Moza, The Khanz, Mount Zamia and Crocodylus.
Feeling passionately about providing a strong local live platform for outstanding emerging artists, the team behind Rare Finds launched a monthly- curated event in April 2015 with the aim of becoming one of the strongest showcases in Sydney. Over the last twenty- four- months, the events continue to hit capacity on a regular basis and the first birthday milestone sold out before doors had opened.
Following a pair of well-received EPs, 2016 saw Hey Geronimo release their debut album 'Crashing Into The Sun' to widespread critical acclaim. Cited by The Music as "the best debut album of the year", 'Crashing Into The Sun' became one of the best reviewed independent Australian records of 2016. Hey Geronimo has spent the summer writing and recording their sophomore album, along with crafting a brand new live show which will debut at Rare Finds Second Birthday.
Brisbane's Major Leagues have released a string of accomplished sun- drenched singles since forming in Australia's Sunshine State in 2013. In their first year, the four- piece released their acclaimed debut EP, Weird Season and followed- up in 2015 with sophomore EP Dream States. Both releases were critically adored by worldwide press, and saw singles lifted from the records strongly supported by community radio and triple j. The band are set to release the first single from their debut album early this year.
The rest of the line- up will be rounded off with upstarts including local indie- rock revellers, Bad Pony, new eclectic electronic producer, Mookhi, Mid- North Coast indie- electronic duo Nocturnal Tapes and local crowd favourites Moza, The Khanz, Mount Zamia and Crocodylus.
Dappled Cities and Schoolies '08 DJ's will be spinning records on the night.
