Seattle based band Night Beats is heading to Australia for the very first time for an east coast tour this September. On their maiden visit to our shores the soulful psych-garage trio will take in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Named after the seminal Sam Cooke album Night Beat, Night Beats formed in 2009 and have since released two albums, a self-titled LP in 2011 and the recent Sonic Bloom.
Recorded in Tacoma, Washington, Sonic Bloom is an explosion of reverb soaked rock and soul blended with classic rhythm-and-blues.
They have toured relentlessly over the past few years, taking in over 20 countries both solo and with a string of other acts including The Zombies, The Black Angels and The Jesus and Mary Chain. They've also played SXSW, the sold out Sasquatch Festival and more.
Joining Night Beats for all shows will be Sydney band The Laurels, in their first shows of 2014.
Following critical acclaim for their debut album Plains and 4 star reviews from The Age, Rolling Stone and Time Off, The Laurels have spent the year to date writing and recording. Ranked #4 in the Mess and Noise Readers Poll for Best Live Band, The Laurels have shared stages with the likes of Swervedriver, Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo, Low, Tame Impala and Pond.
