MATES is an all day, 2 level, in-venue mini festival curated by Sydney's Palms and featuring a massive line up of mates from around the country. All profits are being donated to Support Act.

Says Palms frontman Alex Grigg:

The idea for Mates was born out of a pretty simple idea really: that playing shows with your friends rules. So  cramming as many of your friends' bands as possible onto the one bill should be the best time in a long time, right? Logic has never been our strong point, but that's what we're hoping for anyway...

So we're as happy as Larry to say that Straight Arrows, Bad Dreems, Gooch Palms, Palms (d'uh), Shining Bird, Bloods, Richard In Your Mind, Spod, Hockey Dad, Babaganouj, Mining Boom, The Fabergettes, Foam, Woodboot, Low Lux, Tempura Nights plus a very special secret headliner all agreed to come play. That's 17 bands from all over this wide brown land! And cos mates help mates out, all profits from the show are going to Support Act, a charity that helps musicians in need. Too easy.
