Brisbane’s Last Dinosaurs are back with their brand new single, ‘Evie’, the first track from their long-awaited second album, due for release later this year. The band also announce a national tour of the same name, playing intimate venues across the country. The ‘Evie’ tour kicks of in Brisbane then on to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth this winter prior to their scheduled performance at Splendour In The Grass.

LISTEN TO 'EVIE' HERE

An intriguing contrast between the melancholy of long distance separation and the band's signature sense of naive optimism (I know the distances are far between us. Can't let this go, cause I'm always going to be a dreamer), 'Evie' is the sonic stepping-stone that fuses Last Dinosaurs' trademark fizzing guitar pop, with richer layers and defined synth textures. Front man Sean Caskey says of the track - "It was the first song I wrote after our first album, but the last song we finished for this album. So in a way it was the most natural, and at the same time it was so difficult to perfect. The song is about the idea of having that naive optimism for something desired but unattainable."

Brothers Sean Caskey (lead vocals and guitar) and Lachlan Caskey (lead guitar), long time friend Dan Koyama (drums) and recently reappointed member Michael Sloane (bass) have spent a large part of the of last two years touring, travelling, writing and more recently polishing up their recordings with the help of producer Scott Horscroft (The Presets, Silverchair, Empire Of The Sun, Oh Mercy, Sleepy Jackson) at The Grove Studios on the NSW Central Coast.

Last Dinosaurs emerged from Brisbane's underground indie scene with 2012 debut 'In A Million Years' which put the band on the local and international music map, peaking at #8 on the ARIA Album chart, securing them a Triple J Feature Album and critical acclaim, while single 'Andy' landed into Triple j's annual Hottest 100. The band's large online presence has generated millions of combined views on the group's YouTube and Vevo channels. Their continued success has cemented their reputation as 'the ones to watch' with the Herald Sun Hit naming them "Australia's break-out band of 2012" and Indie Shuffle proclaiming "Very big things await for Australia's freshest Indie-Pop stars."

The worldwide release of 'In A Million Years' saw the band win hearts across the globe as fans tore up the dance floors of headline shows and at major festivals in the UK, Europe, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines. British Press The Guardian awarded them the influential Band Of The Day accolade declaring, "Last Dinosaurs prove that decent indie guitar-pop is not extinct".
