Sydney indie rockers, GANG OF YOUTHS have released the highly anticipated video for their current single, ‘Poison Drum,’ which is currently in the Top 20 most played tracks at Triple J.
Their touring CV is impressive and extensive having played sold out shows supporting Vampire Weekend, Frightened Rabbit, Manchester Orchestra and Sydney and Melbourne fans can see them support Foster The People later this month. The band will also be playing a string of headline shows in August so if you didn't catch their sold out shows in May now is your chance to see the electrifying live show that AU Review has described as sitting "somewhere aesthetically between the grandness of Springsteen and the sharp wiriness of The Strokes."
Having recently returned from the US, where the video was shot, guitarist Joji Malani describes the experience -"We spent what was probably the best week of our lives in LA playing shows and on our day off we got to experience a lot of LA making this video, and us being the pseudo alternatives we are, decided to spoil the culture of LA with us doing shitty, cringeworthy things like being carted around on pulleys in a skidrow pin ata store and sucking on noodles in china town."
The video is online and available to watch now: http://youtu.be/yqi2dT5rRtw.
Having formed in 2013, GANG OF YOUTHS burst onto the live scene, playing blistering sets at CMJ in New York and SXSW. The band then quickly secured overseas booking agents, was added to Triple J and scored plays across college radio in the US and BBC 1 in the UK, with NME and also Spotify proclaiming the 5 piece the Number #1 Buzz Band to watch.
GANG OF YOUTHS are putting the final touches on their debut album. Tickets to their headline shows are on sale today.
