New York based, Australian-bred musician Fascinator has today announced a series of east coast dates this June. Performing at Oxford Art Gallery, Sosume in Bondi and The Workers Club, the Sydney and Melbourne shows follow his appearance at Dark Mofo and North American support slot for label mates POND. The news is paired with the reveal of a new instant grat, Skin Within, taken from his second studio album Water Sign, which will now be released Friday 15 June via Spinning Top / Caroline.
Skin Within is a celebration of life from the darkest place, that blends a spaghetti western riff with a lick of krautrock and madchester vibes. The instant grat follows the release of first single Sex Crystals, a Mancunian space jam about a desert adventure in an invisible car. The released was paired with Fascinator's signature outlandish visuals, presenting a world of savoury landscapes, where dinosaurs disco and paradigms flourish.
New album, Water Sign journeys multiple sonic terrain. The atmospheric, extended trip offers a sublime dose of revolutionary listening. A lonely planet guide to Fascinator, the experimental aesthetic was conceived over a four-year period, recorded everywhere from planes and trains, a barn in Nantucket, several Brooklyn apartments and an Australian kitchen.
Fascinator has opened for Tame Impala at two sold-out shows at Los Angeles' Hollywood Forever Cemetery, toured on St Jerome's Laneway Festival, supported The Avalanches in Amsterdam and joined the likes of Santigold and Kali Uchis at Full Moon Festival in NYC. He has delivered vivacious sets everywhere from a private festival in The Dominican Republic to playing atop an art car at Burning Man, in addition endless touring in his previous incarnation as singer/guitarist with the indie rock band Children Collide.
