CHANGES REVEALS FULL TALKS PROGRAM AND TONNES OF LIVE MUSIC
CHANGES are coming.
On July 4 and 5 2018, CHANGES, a collaboration between The Push, Yarra City Council, Music Victoria and the Victorian music community, assembles a roster of ground breaking voices, programming and events to reshape the Australian music industry.
CHANGES in MUSIC.
For its inaugural year, CHANGES is collaborating with labels, agencies and organisations to curate a series of over 80 showcases across Melbourne's leading venues, with partners including Anti Fade, Bad Apples Music, Barely Dressed Records, Bedroom Suck Records, Chapter Music, Collective Artists, Good Manners, HopeStreet Recordings, Hysterical Records, I Oh You, Identical Records, LISTEN, LNWY, Milk! Records, Music Victoria, New World Artists, Our Golden Friend, PARADISE, Poison City Records, Select Music Agency and UNFD.
Featuring live performances by the likes of Cable Ties, Darcy Baylis, East Brunswick All Girls Choir, Evelyn Ida Morris, Good Morning, High Tension, Jaala, Jade Imagine, Jess Locke, Milwaukee Banks, Mojo Juju, Totally Mild, RVG plus many others, CHANGES' showcases will reveal a cross-section of Victoria's energising music scene, leaving no doubt about Melbourne's place on the international stage.
CHANGES in TECH and TALKS.
CHANGES has invited experts, mentors and storytellers from across the world to help light the path towards the future of the music industry. They include innovators in the festival and live music space, like SXSW Music Festival Programmer Stacey Wilhelm, VERSUS Creative/Coachella's Rishi Shah, and some of New York's finest in Michelle Landry of Bowery Presents/Rough Trade and Carly James of Paradigm Talent Agency.
Joining us to explore the changing face of how we experience and discover music are forward-thinkers like Cherie Hu, whose work for Forbes and Billboard at the intersection of music and tech earned her Reeperbahn's Music Business Journalist of the Year in 2017; Joseph Edward Keyes, the Editorial Director at the helm of Bandcamp's far-reaching independent music platform; and Pitchfork Contributing Editor Jenn Pelly.
And to uncover the cutting edge of digital strategy and music technology, we're welcoming the likes of Pitch Studios' Christie Morgan; a specialist in 3D animation, interactive design, and creative activations, Meredith Croy, Director of Artist Services at Songkick; who works to pioneer new tools for data-driven insights, as well as Bolster Co-Founder Alex Zaccaria, Vinyl Me, Please's Matthew Hessler, VICE's David Benge, Amazon Music's David Gray and more.
CHANGES in IDEAS.
CHANGES is curating a number of special one-on-one meetings, workshops and masterclasses with our guests to help start new conversations and develop skills for defining their future. Within the Hear Me Out listening sessions, participants will be invited to play their music to a selection of experts, receiving real-time feedback from Ivy League's Marihuzka Cornelius, Bandcamp Artist Ambassador Will Evans, Sub Pop's Gareth Smith and more. This is just one of the many interactive sessions available at CHANGES. Check out the full details on changes.melbourne.
MUSIC, TECH, TALK and IDEAS all come together under one umbrella: CHANGES. Two days: July 4 & 5, headquartered within the stunning ACU Melbourne Campus, CHANGES will begin to draw a roadmap for the future. Join us at changes.melbourne.
