There are few stories in the Australian music industry more interesting and diverse than that of Rick and John Brewster, founding musicians behind rock legends The Angels and of two of the country’s most successful and influential songwriters ever.

Now, the Brewster Brothers are preparing to do something a little different in this unique show Brothers Angels and Demons, which debuted at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival a few years back to critical acclaim. The show is a musical tour de force that chronicles in word and song the extraordinary journey of The Angels, including the good times, the bad and everything in between.

The Brewster Brothers grew up in a musical family and while Rick studied classical piano, John discovered Bob Dylan. In 1970, the boys formed their first band Moonshine Jug and String Band with a bunch of friends and began gigging around Adelaide. This crazy, blues-oriented band featuring washboard, washtub-bass and banjo rapidly became one of Adelaide's most successful bands, attracting a large and loyal following and selling out every venue they played. They earned the respect of both their musical peers and the local industry, and when they began writing their own songs they soon decided to abandon their acoustic instruments and begin a rock band. Along with Doc Neeson, the Brewster Brothers formed the first incarnation of The Angels. They did the "hard yards" in some of the toughest pubs in Australia, and during a country tour supporting AC/DC in 1975, they formed a bond with another pair of legendary brothers, the Youngs. Angus and Malcolm's recommendation eventually took The Angels into the reputed Alberts' studios in Sydney to lay down their debut record with renowned producers George Young and Harry Vanda, sometimes standing in line while AC/DC recorded one of their classic tracks.

Now, four decades on and after celebrating The Angels 40th Anniversary, two brothers who were once worlds apart in music are presenting the songs which have defined their career, and sitting back to reflect on their love of music, the passion and the stories behind the huge success of The Angels.

Join the Brewster Brothers for a behind-the-scenes, flashback journey. This special show Brothers Angels and Demons takes audiences on a wild ride. They'll produce the washboard and harmonica to reveal their musical partnership beginnings with the Moonshine Jug & String Band, and reflect on the hard rocking days of the Keystone Angels. Memories of the hairier moments, including the infamous 1980 Sydney Opera House gig in front of 100,000 people which saw 2 members injured; getting thrown off The Kinks tour of the US in 1980; the high points, including touring with David Bowie in 1978 and with AC/DC on their Back in Black tour; being inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame and the Australian Songwriters Hall of Fame. Then they'll perform some of their most famous hit songs from The Angels before bringing you back to the present with some remarkable songs from the Brewster Brothers repertoire.

Brothers Angels and Demons features John and Rick, as well as John's three sons Sam, Tom and Harry Brewster, bringing together a family who have earned their stripes together - an unforgettable evening of live music and shared experiences ... a story four generations strong which began with their grandfather and father, both highly acclaimed classical musicians, and continues into the present.

The Brewster Brothers talent, humbleness and complete and utter respect of their craft stands them apart and it will become rapidly evident why they are so highly revered by their peers.

Also, as a special bonus, the Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be Raymond Hawkins aka 'The Electronic Swagman' who spent many years on the road with them as their brilliant lighting director both here and overseas.
