This April, AUSTRALIA are set to embark on their first National tour in celebration of the release of their debut LP 'Portraits of People, Places and Movies'.
Over four weeks the band will visit Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Wollongong, delivering their live performance which is every bit as compelling as the album itself. 2015 saw Australia solidify their reputation for high energy shows that leave listeners lurchin' and jerkin' like an early 80's Peter Garrett, playing relentlessly; everywhere from dingy 2am sets at Newtown's Tokyo Sing Song, to opening to a packed out Metro Theatre.
AUSTRALIA 's most recent offering 'Who R U', described by Rolling Stone as an "oscillation between aggressive commands and soothing croons" offers just a small taste of what is to come from 'Portraits' which traverses the tightrope between uniquely passionate pop and vigorous, percussive new wave. The album, and tour of the same name, will deliver (in the words of Nick Findlay, Triple J) music that is "so Australian it makes me swell with pride. A stunning mix of iconic antipodean sounds that stretch from the 80s to now."
