Splendour And Falls Secure Permanent Home in Byron
Both Splendour In The Grass and Falls Festival Byron are in the clear after securing North Byron Bay Parklands as their permanent home.
The Independent Planning Commission (IPC) gave the venue the approval to continue hosting both festivals for as long as they continue to exist. They also greenlit a $42 million development application that will allow the venue's owners to improve the functionality and amenity of the site.
The approval comes after a 6.5-year trial and almost 9 years in NSW planning system.
With Splendour and Falls continuing to inject funds into the Shire's Community Grants program (since 2013 the program has given over $630,000 to community, educational and environmental groups across the Shire) and not to mention generating a huge amount of jobs for locals, North Byron Parklands General Manager Mat Morris the news will spell great things for the local area.
Let's cheers to many more years ahead!
