Save Our Scene: Victorian Venues Call For Government Relief

Victorian music venues are calling on the Victorian Government to step in to save the states rich music scene by supporting the venues where artists perform.

With it being many months before local music venues can safely reopen their doors, most are facing crippling debt, and without Government intervention, will be forced to close their doors permanently.

Save Our Scene is a campaign put together by a large collective of venue operators and bookers, calling for Victorian Government relief for the venue sector. Read the Save Our Scene open letter to the Victorian Government HERE.

Melbourne has more live music venues per capita than any other city in the world. The 700 music venues across Victoria host approximately 100,000 gigs a year, with an estimated economic impact of $1.42 billion generated from live music, clubs and festivals.

Want to get involved? Organisers of the Save Our Scene campaign are encouraging music fans to sign their petition, requesting action from the Victorian Government.
