Come celebrate the launch of What’s Golden, a brand-spankin’-new, 250-capacity music venue and performance space located inside Brisbane's best-loved institution, The Tivoli. You are invited to explore the redesign of venue’s decadent foyer space over wine and canapes, soaking up the new stage, sound system and décor.

Pub Choir’s own Meg Bartholomew will MC the event that will feature music by First Beige and Buttercats.

First Beige

First Beige draws upon driving disco grooves, sweeping synths and irresistible vocal hooks to craft a full-bodied sonic spectacular guaranteed to get any crowd grooving. An infectious live act taking inspiration from the likes of Jamiroquai, Flying Lotus, Parcels and Kaytranada; the six-piece have continued to solidify themselves as one of the rawest, most energetic and vibrant live acts to come out of Brisbane in recent years.

Buttercats

Unfortunately, Holiday Party are now unable to perform at the What's Golden Launch. Lucky for us, Buttercats have jumped in at the last minute to replace them!

Buttercats is a sexy, smooth trio based in Brisbane, playing RnB inspired Disco Soul. The band formed in 2018 when frontman Tim Watkin teamed up with his sister, percussionist Jaymee Watkin, and Marc Dubois, bass player and producer. The band was born when Tim moved to Brisbane from Cape York, where he’d been playing guitar instead of attending high school; timing well with Jaymee returning home from touring as drummer for Australian songstress, Emma Louise. Marc’s bedroom producer past then added a modern edge to the soulful inclinations of the siblings. A year after it’s inception, Buttercats have poured their souls into an electrifying live show that captivates and excites, with an emphasis on helping people of all walks of life step into a melty, glistening dewdrop of euphoria.
