Event Details

It's been a big year for WANDERERS that's seen them release their self-titled EP, perform at SXSW, make their US television debut as well as making a triumphant return to touring. Known for their harmonically strong and rich melodies that give us energy akin to Lime Cordiale and The Moving Stills, it’s music like this that has bolstered Wanderers’ presence in recent years as a band to watch out of SA.

With a number of exciting plans in the pipeline for 2023, the band have prepared an extra special extended line up to their end of year show tradition, putting together a line up of some of their favourites to end the year with a bang!

Joining Wanderers on Friday 16th of December are :

SODA

A rebellious and romantic voice; SODA dives deep into inter-genre synth rock. With heavy influences from the pioneers of synth-inspired 1970s rock to modern takes on the dichotomy. With an inclination for as few rules as possible, their dynamic sound has carved out a unique space since forming in mid 2018. Having formed in film school, there is a large emphasis on their visual identity and great pride is taken in the coupling of both sound and picture.
They’ve taken strides forward in their live shows, earning a reputation for an experiential performance. With a steadily growing online audience and multiple releases planned for 2021 their recordings have gained notoriety for their commitment to an individual sound.

Kings of Spain

Vocal supremo Pete White, keyboard wizard Dave Goodwin and emphatic drummer Miles Sly, having played in many leading Adelaide ensembles, now come together to create a fusion of RnB and NeoSoul made new again.

Drawing on inspirations from the vocal stylings of Jordan Rakei and Allen Stone. The lean, muscular beats of Lowrider. The funky keyboard innovations of Stevie Wonder’s Innervisions. The Neo soul of Thando and explosive performance daring of Hiatus Kaiyote.

This trio fleshes out their live show: adding phat bass, adding horns, adding soaring backing vocalists. Adding tone and texture. Making it bigger, badder, sweeter, sadder. They introduce their own chapter of modern Rhythm & Blues.

Bailey Judd (VIC)

Bailey Judd is a glistening new voice in music, whose exceptional talent and pop sensibility have not gone unnoticed. Originally from rural NSW, Bailey is a singer/songwriter, producer and guitarist who cut his teeth apprenticing himself to Australia's best jazz improvisers while always staying true to his pop and rock roots.

Bailey Judd is an exciting new talent to emerge out of the Australian music scene- with incredible songwriting ability, angelic voice and mad guitar skills, Bailey Judd is the whole package.

Alright Psycho

*Georgia was the witch-queen of the bus, the malevolent maiden of the metro, the terror of Route 196. "Nice hat," she'd say, "Not!" She would put a bit of gum on your bag. Sometimes she would even do that thing where you point at their chest, and then when they look down at it, you flick them in the nose. Also one time she bashed this chick. A group of boys had to take that bus every day for five years just to get to school; they survived, they graduated, they grew into men and they forgot those evil times as best they could.

Many years later, they were surprised at a knock at the door (for they all lived together in a big house, with separate single beds with their names on them, just like Bert and Ernie.) It was Georgia, with an offer so outlandish, so freakish and grotesque, that they had no choice but to accept then and there: "Join my band."
This is: ALRIGHT PSYCHO*
