It has been nearly four decades since Radio Birdman front man Rob Younger first formed The New Christs specifically for an Australian tour at the invitation of Iggy Pop, thirty years since the release of their classic debut ‘Distemper’, six years since their last album 'Incantations' and at least a year since they have hit the stage at all, so this is a rare chance to see the band live.

The New Christs current and longest running line up featuring Younger(vocals) alongside Jim Dickson(bass), Dave Kettley(guitar) and Brent Williams(keyboards/guitar) have spent more than a decade playing regular shows throughout Australia and Europe and were joined for their 2014 European tour by Celibate Rifles drummer Paul Larsen who has since become a permanent member.

Drawing music from their five albums and several ep/single releases The New Christs have been a long time live favourite whether on stage in a smaller inner city club in Sydney, playing on the streets of Paris for Fete de la Musique or owning the stage at Primavera Festival in Barcelona.
