The Hollows are a singer/songwriter folk duo based in Melbourne, whose lyrics take center stage amongst rich acoustic soundscapes. Their poignant and raw storytelling invites listeners to a page of their diary. With combinations of guitars, pianos and delicate strings, The Hollows creates music with honesty and tenderness, valuing the feelings behind their songs. Helianthus is The Hollows’ debut EP, a project wrapped in lyrical honesty and haunting harmonies. Titled after the scientific name for ‘sunflower’, the record encapsulates the human experience of finding your identity, love, loss, and nostalgia. Through a mix of soft acoustic soundscapes and intricate melodies, each song tells a unique and emotional story. Including two previously released singles, echoes and parasite, The Hollows continue to write poignantly raw lyrics, allowing listeners to sit alongside each emotion. Helianthus is a love letter to feeling deeply throughout all walks of life, and the pain and beauty that comes from it
