Event Details

From south coast NSW, The Water Runners will be making a trip to the big smoke to deliver a magical night of bluegrass-infused musical storytelling in an intimate setting.

Immerse yourself in a night of Sweet Southern Sounds as The Water Runners bring their music to the big smoke.

The Water Runners hail from the NSW South Coast and play a play a high energy blend of original bluegrass-infused Australian folk with elements of country, roots and trad folk. Recently crowned winners in the ‘Band’ category and second in the ‘Open’ category of the 2020 Australian National Busking Championships, they have played at venues and festivals from Sydney to the Snowy, Tamworth to Tathra and Wollongong to Woy Woy and have supported international acts such as Chris Henry and the Hardcore Grass (USA) and Elephant Sessions (SCO). Their music draws on personal experiences and local stories with banjo, mandolin, guitar, fiddle, double bass and percussion combining with tight harmonies in songs about life, love, murder and mayhem.

The Water Runners have gained a reputation for engaging live shows, strong musicianship and award-winning song writing.

With a new album being recorded in early 2021 under the guiding hand of Matt Fell (from ABC’s The Recording Studio), come along and hear The Water Runners test drive their new material and also play some of their festival favourites.
