After 2 sell-outs in a row, Space Jams will bring in the new year with another instalment of it’s live mini-fest featuring indie-pop quartet Pinkish Blu as headliners.

On 9 January 2021, Adelaide’s favourite indie bar Jive will play host to Space Jams for the third time since it took the step from live-stream festival to real-life festival. Coming off the back of an eagerly-awaited debut EP, Pinkish Blu will take the stage with yet another star-studded lineup. High energy indie-rockers Don’t Bring Stacey, National Live Music Award state winner My Chérie, pop/rap/electronic duo China Roses, and exciting new project Albany Avenue.

Ticket holders will also be spoilt with DJ sets from psych legends Heinous Crimes and poetical genius Red Light Disco. Back by popular demand, local comedian Clay McMath will again host the evening, filling punters with laughs and urging crowd participation in forms of arm-waving, yelling, whooing, whistling and the occasional thumbs up.

For those less familiar with the concept of “Space Jams”, after the overnight eradication of Australia’s live performance industry in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Space Jams founder Josh Morphett paved the way for live music enthusiasts to continue to access live music from wherever they and their handheld device were in the world. And so the Instagram Live-stream Music Festival was created. The COVID-fuelled live music initiative was given the nod from SA Music Awards, nominated for “Best Innovation”. To boot, a mini-doco was produced and released about Space Jams’ creation by the talented Mark Tipple.

Morphett is excited about big plans in the pipeline for 2021, including a regional tour, a big 2- stage 13-band festival and even early thoughts of a warehouse festival!
