Australian favourites Sly Withers and American emo band Tigers Jaw are set to deliver an electrifying Australian tour experience in August, joined by Melbourne-based rising star Suzi.
From high-school hopefuls to festival main-stagers, Perth’s Sly Withers are the West Australian embodiment of hard work paying off and dreams coming true. Their emotive, weighted brand of big-swinging alt-rock has seen them play to sold-out audiences across the country, ranging from sweaty rock club headliners of their own to arena support slots with Amy Shark and Tones & I. They’ve amassed millions of streams, frequent national radio airplay, scored the coveted #69 (nice) in the 2021 triple j Hottest 100 with their lighter ballad ‘Clarkson’ and have had both of their last studio albums – 2021’s Gardens and 2022’s Overgrown – debut at number 10 on the ARIA album charts, ahead of pop conglomerates like Harry Styles and Taylor Swift. A band that leaves it all on the stage, with hearts pinned on sleeves and guitars cranked to 11, Sly Withers are a true and undeniable force for good within Australian music.
Characterised by unconventionally catchy songs, weaving harmonies, and timelessly relatable lyricism, Tigers Jaw has been organically increasing its fanbase over a decade-plus of touring and releasing music. The latest effort, I Won’t Care How You Remember Me, showcases a band who is confident and adventurous, forging trust in friendship alongside musicianship over years of steady touring. The band created a timeless and dynamic album that is both a confident step forward and an essential release in an already celebrated catalogue of music. Aptly described as the middle ground between Fleetwood Mac and Jimmy Eat World, Tigers Jaw have managed to progress and evolve while preserving the spirit of their modest origins in the scrappy DIY Scranton punk scene.
Joining both bands is infectious hook-wielder Suzi, who’s been collecting fans across the country whilst touring incessantly to promote her outstanding debut EP, ‘I Hope You Can Hear Me Now’.
