The Archie Roach Foundation Presents

SINGING OUR FUTURES

PROGRAM LAUNCH 2023

It’s approaching one year since our beloved song man, Uncle Archie Roach AC entered the Dreamtime on 30th July 2022. A powerful and prolific truthteller, Uncle Archie was a passionate and tireless advocate for elevating the voice of young First Nations artists and creating meaningful opportunities for their art. Nowhere more so than through the foundation’s acclaimed Singing Our Futures mentoring program that supports those artists on their songwriting and recording journeys.

This month, on Sunday 30th July starting 4pm at the Brunswick Ballroom, Singing Our Futures is proudly launching in honour of Uncle Archie, the 2023 Singing Our Futures Vol. 2 Music Program featuring new mentee’s Katie Aspel, Canisha Clemmet, Sedriece, Janaya Roach and Chaigen & Jarrin. The event will be filled with performances by the mentee’s and mentors Emily Wurramara, Tasman Keith, Bumpy, & Dobby . Audiences will also get to hear the songs that the program’s five inaugural mentees, Kee’ahn, Kiwat Kennell, Ridzy Ray, Madi Colville-Walker and Maylene Yinarr, have created as part of the program in 2022.
