Simon Cox - Lovebites - Blackwood Rising

If you like your stones rolled and your blue bones shaken and rattled, then Love Bites are just what the witch doctor ordered.  Blues Club stalwarts, the group never fail to deliver a rocking good time. With Phil Bennett honky tonking on the 88s and hollering out them words, Sam Musca squeezing out the six string licks, Harry Heslin rhino rumbling on the bass, and international troubadore, Richie Pavledis, kicking out the groove with his sticks, there’s voodoo magic in the air when these guys hit the stage. Be prepared to dance.

The Lovebites will be supported by Simon Cox (7.30pm) and Blackwood Rising (9.45pm)

Simon Cox

Simon Cox is a regular at the Perth Blues Club and will be on the keyboard knocking out some New Orleans boogie and blues.

Blackwood Rising

Blackwood Rising  is primarily a vehicle for its two members (Patrick Steinbacher and Geoff Rowe) to immerse themselves in a tribute to the blues sounds that have been in existence for far, far longer. These sounds are dredged up and thumped into a shape that will prove to be a point of difference in the current blues and roots landscape – a landmark that might come in handy amongst so much uniformity.
