"Where Is My Mind” A visually reactive Grunge/Jazz performance by Richard Coates Trio.

Richard Coates has been a presence on the Australian music scene for 30 years, from his early grunge and experimental jazz bands, he is known for pushing the envelopes of sound and freedom of expression.

Through Aria nominated hip hop with A-Love, touring Australia and America with jazz, hip hop and country bands, he has played all of Australia’s major festivals and recorded on over 100 recordings in every genre.

Joined for this special performance by his regular trio with Bonnie Aue (double bass) and Sam Millar (drums), two of South Australia’s finest young talents.

Singer Troy Loakes, originally from England will also join, bringing his 35 years of experience from the English punk scene, European alternative scene and acclaimed work in Australia with bands such as Canvas and the Huckleberry Swedes.

In reinventing some iconic grunge songs with a jazz bent, the trio seeks to affirm that, genre aside, music can transport you to a higher place.
