"Imagine how much better our battle against suicide would be if people understood depression as well as they understood cancer or diabetes?" ~Anon.

Sadly, Australia has seen consecutive years of a rise in suicide. And while no one can underestimate the darkness brought on by depression and anxiety, one thing is equally certain, the social stigma attached to depression/anxiety isn't helping reduce these figures either.

On Wednesday 16th of November, we will host "PROP @ The Basement", or People Reaching Out to People. This night holds two objectives: recruit people to help overcome this social stigma through education, and to broaden access to Lifeline counselling through electronic media. To finish off this evening, we have the great pleasure bringing back one of Australia's 1980s top iconic band: Mental As Anything.

The cost for this event will be broken into two parts:

• Cost of entry/canapes. $20 per person (cash bar); and,
• A minimum tax-deductible donation to Lifeline of $40 per person

We would suggest securing tickets soon as there is limited capacity. Please be sure to supply name and email, as entry tickets and tax receipts will be sent electronically.
